SPONSOR A CHILD, AND GIVE THEM THE CHANCE TO GO TO SCHOOL

Children of the Mekong responds to the needs of the community. These needs differ from one region to another, and even from one child to another. This is why individual child sponsorship is an efficient, adapted and personalised solution.

With £28 or $35 a month, the goal is to enable a child to go to school so that they can take charge of their future and that of their family.

In the six countries of action of Children of the Mekong, a part of the population is very poor. Children often have to leave school to work in the fields, in the landfills or on the streets.

Our local leaders, all volunteers, know the families that are in most need of help. Supported by overseas volunteers, they prioritise action based on:

      • the child’s motivation for learning
      • the poverty of the family
      • the commitment of the family to send the child to school, for as long as possible

How is used your sponsorship moneyDepending on the need, sponsorship money can finance school materials, uniforms, transportation, extra classes, and hygiene kits. This financial support also compensates for the fact that the sponsored child goes to school instead of having to work to put food on the table. Child sponsorship is thus a precious help that benefits the whole family.
