Vernissage and Art Auction 2012
Children of the Mekong had its first event on Friday 23rd of March. This vernissage and art auction took place in a gallery in Mayfair. Marcus Fedder, who is a partner in a microfinance venture and a painter, offered his paintings to the charity and covered the costs of the event. More than 100 people attended the silent auction, and thanks to their generosity, Children of the Mekong raised donations in excess of £12,000.
The money raised will fund Children of the Mekong’s education centre in Samrong, Northwest Cambodia. This centre welcomes 88 secondary school students from poor family backgrounds and offers them a safe place for study, for leisure and social interactions.
Thanks again to all bidders and donors for their generosity.
