Bangkok students experience the industrial sector with the Colas Foundation

A DAY IN THE HEART OF THE INDUSTRIAL SECTOR

On 11 November, 16 students accompanied by the Children of the Mekong team from Bangkok visited the offices of Tipco Asphalt. The aim of the day was to discover how this Colas Group subsidiary operates and spend a day at the heart of the industry.

Presentation of the site and laboratories in Phra Padaeng, safety measures, practical workshops on work carried out with bitumen, etc. The students immersed themselves in the world of the subsidiary and then shared a meal with the company’s teams. They had the opportunity to talk with Pierre Vanstoflegatte, CEO of Colas, William Bouygues, Director of Colas Industries, Christophe Mansuy, HR Director, and Frédéric Roussel, who were in Bangkok to discover the behind-the-scenes workings of the Tipco Asphalt Public Company R&D centre. The students asked them about managing a group like Colas and what a company expects from its employees!

Together with the teams at the Colas Group

‘From our fascinating discussions, I gather that they are ambitious: leadership, innovation, CSR, managing a large group… They are ready to take the plunge!’ Pierre Vanstoflegatte, CEO of the Colas Group

After lunch, the programme, carefully prepared by Vanessa Jung, Deputy Finance and Administration Manager APAC, and her team, continued with a space game, designed to help students work on their adaptability and, above all, their teamwork skills. It was an intense day, which engaged our students and introduced them to new professions and inspiring career paths.

Thank you to the Colas Foundation and the Thai team for this wonderful opportunity and partnership, which helps our students grow!
