Our mission is providing children from underprivileged backgrounds in Southeast Asia with access to education which is the main route out of poverty. Through child sponsorships, building education centres as well as through supporting different projects in various communities, our organisation strives to provide children with school materials, uniforms and other necessities. This significantly increases their chances of success and therefore of having a brighter future. We therefore aim to empower them as well as their close ones. For a long time now, we have accepted donations in various currencies including pound sterling, American and Singaporean dollar. From now on, donations made in cryptocurrency can help to support schools, community centres as well as critical initiatives!
WHY TRUST US IN CREATING A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR CHILDREN?
84% of our expenditure goes towards our mission to provide education to the poorest children in Southeast Asia. The remaining amount goes towards fundraising and costs for operating the charity. Our resources come almost exclusively from private donations which means that your contribution matters enormously! Since 1958, Children of the Mekong has experienced growth mainly through word of mouth. Many sponsors, convinced of the usefulness of their sponsorship, especially after a field visit, testify to its effectiveness to change the lives of children and their families and by helping to build a new generation of young people able to receive an education regardless of their background.
Children of the Mekong UK is a registered charity at the Charity Commission for England and Wales, under the number 1116375. We also have chapters of volunteers in the USA, Singapore and Hong Kong.
