It’s this time of the year!
This may sound normal to our ears, as education is granted to many of our school-age children. However, this is not the case for the children of Dong Thap in South Vietnam. Children of the Mekong recently started a child sponsorship programme, so that the deprived children of this community can go to school.
Dong Thap Province, located in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam, is renowned for its vast rice fields. However, despite its picturesque beauty and agricultural significance, Dong Thap’s residents live in extreme poverty with sparse access to education and healthcare.
Thirteen children were selected among the poorest to be sponsored. Seven of them are still looking for a sponsor.
The monthly sponsorship will pay for the school-related expenses such as fees, school supplies, uniforms. It will also provide a special support to the family of your sponsored child such as food, hygiene kits and healthcare when necessary.
Would you consider becoming a child sponsor this back-to-school?
Meet 3 of the Dong Thap children waiting to be sponsored!
