We would like to extend our warmest thanks to Marco Vasco for funding this project and providing 27 sponsorships through the ‘Month of Sponsorship’ initiative in May 2025.
The Sralau Srong primary school, located 1 hour and 10 minutes from Preah Vihear, has 107 pupils. It faces many challenges due to its limited infrastructure. Only one concrete building with five classrooms is available, while two classes study in a tin-roofed pavilion exposed to the elements. Water leaks during the rainy season complicate learning, sometimes making it impossible.
Since 2015, the World Food Programme has been providing breakfast, but the pupils eat on the floor, and the kitchen is in ruins, forcing mothers to cook at a neighbour’s house. Aware of these difficulties, Mr Sopheary, headmaster since 2011 and teacher at the school, is committed to improving conditions for the pupils. The school was in urgent need of a new building for the two classes and a suitable kitchen/dining area.

Boosting the local economy: hiring a local builder, thereby supporting local employment and resources.
The walls are almost all up, and the building work is progressing rapidly. The next steps are to finish building the roof, install the windows and paint the walls.
The construction of the new building for the two classrooms and a suitable kitchen/dining area is complete. We have been able to move the pupils into the new premises!
THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!
