MORE THAN 50 COMPANIES TRUST US!
We believe that a lasting partnership is first and foremost based on mutual trust between the stakeholders. Since we started in 1958, our absolute priority is to guarantee that the funds are spent the right way, with strong monitoring and evaluation of every project.
Since 1958, Children of the Mekong has built strong partnerships with local volunteers who serve children and their families every day. This knowledge of the field allows us to be fair and efficient.
It is essential for us to keep our core costs as low as possible, so we can support more children in Southeast Asia. Last year, we were proud to keep our charitable expenditure above 85%.
Since 2011, Children of the Mekong has a track record of fundraising and added-value partnerships with UK partners. Come to meet our team in our office near Clapham Junction, London.
“My name is Srey Mao, and in my country it is hard to find a good job after graduating. Thanks to Children of the Mekong, I learned that I had to adapt to my environment, I learned to take initiative and to communicate and to be honest, which is not common among Cambodia’s graduates. I have been working in a big phone company in Phnom Penh for four years, and I am now in charge of all of the agents on a national scale. The achievement I am most proud of is to have been able to establish a social project in my company that sponsors underprivileged children in the Kratie province. I would like to give a chance to young people like the one Children of the Mekong gave to me ten years ago. I promised myself I would make a commitment to help others when I graduated; to have a role in my country’s development is my priority. Children of the Mekong taught me what real love is, you changed my life, and you freed me.”

CA-CIB’S FINANCIAL SUPPORT AND SKILLS-TRANSFER PROGRAMME
“Because we have offices in Asia, we can send our employees to the field to train University students in the centres managed by the charity. We have supported a cohort of students from Phnom Penh over the last four years, on a twice-yearly basis, with a team of 6 volunteer employees. The content and delivery of these training courses are built around themes useful in the professional world, such as “project management”, “teamwork”, “acquiring communication skills” or “job interviews”.
Three of our employees attended their graduation ceremony in November 2018, and the adventure started again in 2019 with a new cohort in Cebu, the Philippines.
Other forms of support are also taking place in the UK, where we offer Children of the Mekong’s outstanding students a London based scholarship […] and in Paris, a community of mentors has been formed among our employees, creating moral support and a strong bond with these young people over the years.”
