CHILDREN OF THE MEKONG’S ACTIVITY IN VIETNAM:
In Vietnam, Children of the Mekong responds to problems encountered, whether they be social, academic, or economic, mainly through the sponsorship of individual children.
Occasionally, Children of the Mekong also responds to requests for the financing of development programmes, also called projects, to improve or supplement our activity with impoverished children. These projects aim to improve the living conditions and education of impoverished children, the majority of the time, in addition to the sponsorship which provides long-term support.
Children of the Mekong does not create its own projects but responds, after analysis, to an expressed local request.
Intervention with the Boat People in Southeast Asia
Children of the Mekong begins working in Vietnam in 1990. Several local supervisors provide a key link on-site with the sponsored children.
